I don’t think I will ever accept an award on behalf of so many people. From Ralph Fiennes to Helena Bonham Carter to Hedwig and Dobby and all of them, this is amazing! We had over 200 cast members and I wish they could all be up here with me now. Sadly, they can’t. Obviously, I share this award, in particular, with Dan and Rupert. Wherever you are, I hope you’re watching and I miss you both dearly. Just thank you! I really, really appreciate it. Thank you!

Emma also presented the first full trailer for her new film The Perks of Being a Wallflower before the show began. Here is a recording of that, featuring lots of footage of Emma in her first big role since hanging up Hermione’s robes.

Emma’s movie The Bling Ring released a first promo picture which you can see below, and she has been snapped in action on the set of another film, apparently an apocalyptic comedy called The End of the World which is also featuring Seth Rogen and Rihanna. Meanwhile, a few new pictures of Dan as Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings have surfaced. That film is set for a 2013 release.

This annoyed fans of the book and the film studio alike because a mature R rating would have restricted the audience that would have been able to watch the movie and in turn would have limited its box office potential.

Distributor Summit appealed the decision and today we are finding out that that appeal has been successful and the rating has now been dropped down to a PG-13, for “mature thematic material, drug and alcohol use, sexual content including references, and a fight – all involving teens.”

The film doesn’t have an exact release date yet but should be out later this year.

The film, which has been rumoured for the last couple of weeks, will be directed by Sofia Coppola and is based on a true story about a group of teenagers who commit a string of celebrity burglaries.

Emma notes that she will be taking the third term out of her studies at Worcester College, Oxford University, in order to take part in the film. Here’s what she had to say in the brief message on her site:

Several months ago, rumours circulated that Emma Watson was being lined up to take the lead role in a new live-action adaptation of the classic Beauty and the Beast. Now, Variety is reporting that this is close to becoming a reality, with Guillermo Del Toro directing and Andrew Davies writing the film for Warner Brothers.

Guillermo del Toro will direct “Beast,” a new take on the “Beauty and the Beast” tale that Warners has tapped “Bridget Jones’s Diary” scribe Andrew Davies to write.

WB’s “Harry Potter” star Emma Watson is in final negotiations to topline the period pic. Del Toro was originally on board just to produce.

DiNovi Pictures’ Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan will produce with del Toro, who plans to write a treatment from which Davies will work.

We’re very excited to hear this news and we think it could be a great move for Emma and for the movie. Of course, we’ll bring any more info as we hear it.

We’ve been tipped that Gary Fleder (Kiss the Girls, Don’t Say a Word) is now in the director’s chair with a shoot date slated for this coming April. Penned by Tony Jaswinski, the slasher is being pegged as The Strangers on a college campus. It follows a coed who stays in her dorm during Thanksgiving and is being terrorized by four masked assailants on the empty campus - the killers are up against far more than they bargained for. David Kirschner is producing with his David Kirschner Productions.

Nothing yet has been set in stone for Watson, although I think she could do some real damage in a horror flick. Seeing as how she attends Oxford University right now, she has amazing knowledge of college campus life. Let’s hope that Watson has a love of horror like I do.

Warner Bros is negotiating to acquire Your Voice in My Head, the Emma Forrest-scripted drama based on the scribe’s memoir that is expected to be the next film by director David Yates. The film is shaping up to be a Harry Potter reunion. Yates is in discussions with Emma Watson to star in the role of a young woman who attempts suicide before being saved by a New York-based psychiatrist who’s dying of cancer.

They go on to say that the studio may be aiming to get Tom Hanks or George Clooney for the male lead in the film. Sounds interesting! We’ll be sure to update you when any more information is released about this.
