First On-Set Photos of Tom Felton in “Therese”

The first on set photos from Tom Felton’s upcoming drama Therese have been released online. The film is based off Emile Zola’s Therese Raquin of Budapest, Hungary and has Felton starring as ailing Camille Raquin. He is joined by Elizabeth Olsen and Jessica Lange, who are portraying his wife and mother respectively. There is no set release date currently available. We’re getting lots of good news lately about the young Harry Potter stars’ post-Potter careers (we heard about two new roles for Rupert Grint a few days ago). Today we have some new pictures from Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson’s upcoming projects.

Emma’s movie The Bling Ring released a first promo picture which you can see below, and she has been snapped in action on the set of another film, apparently an apocalyptic comedy called The End of the World which is also featuring Seth Rogen and Rihanna. Meanwhile, a few new pictures of Dan as Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings have surfaced. That film is set for a 2013 release.

New Promotional Stills of Jessie Cave in “Mary Rose”

Harry Potter star Jessie Cave, who played Lavender Brown, is in the DogOrange theatre company’s production of Mary Rose. New promotional stills, courtesy of Snitchseeker.com, and a trailer can be seen below.

The play, which is adapted from the novel written by Peter Pan author J.M. Barrie, is a supernatural story of love, lost innocence and the parallel world of the dead. Time Out had this to say about the play.

A scrupulously detailed, gripping, genuinely goose-bump inducing vision of this high Victorian ghost story … director Matthew Parker’s sterling cast, and his sure, hugely inventive dramatic touch generate an impressive, lingering impression of real loss and longing.

Amazing photos and time-lapse video: 1:24 Hogwarts model at the HP Studio Tour

The opening of the WB Studio Tour: The Making of Harry Potter at Leavesden Studios is now less than a month away. Those with tickets to the tour will be extremely excited to see these new pictures and video released by Warner Brothers today, which show the beautiful scale model of Hogwarts used throughout the whole Harry Potter series, and visitors to the attraction will be able view this with their own eyes.

Even if you are not fortunate enough to be able to make it the Tour, we’re sure you’ll love these pictures no less.

As we’ve heard before, Leavesden Studios has had a big refurbishment which meant the sets had to be dismantled into smaller chunks, put into storage, and then put back together again ready for the tour. The time-lapse video below shows them putting the pieces of Hogwarts back together:

They revealed some fascinating information in this press release, via Mugglenet:

The Hogwarts castle model is the jewel of the Art Department and was built for the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone™. It took 86 artists and crew members to construct the first version which was then rebuilt and altered many times over for the next seven films. The work was so extensive that if one was to add all the man hours that have gone into building and reworking the model, it would come to over 74 years. The model, which sits at nearly 50 feet in diameter, has over 2,500 fibre optic lights that simulate lanterns and torches and even gave the illusion of students passing through hallways in the films. To show off the lighting to full effect a day-to-night cycle will take place every 4 minutes so visitors to the Tour can experience its full beauty.

An amazing amount of detail went into the making of the model: all the doors are hinged, real plants are used for landscaping and miniature birds are housed in the Owlery. To make the model appear even more realistic, artists rebuilt miniature versions of courtyards from Alnwick Castle and Durham Cathedral, where scenes from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone™ were shot.

New pictures reveal more sets/props to be included in the HP Studio Tour, including the Knight Bus

Some great new pictures have hit the web today that give further clues as to what will be included in the WB Studio Tour: The Making of Harry Potter, the amazing new attraction opening at the end of March at Leavesden Studios, where all the Harry Potter films were made. The photos show parts of Privet Drive, what looks like the Potters’ house in Godric’s Hollow, part of the Hogwarts bridge and the Knight Bus. Here is a statement from Warner Bros. via Magical-Menagerie:

The iconic, triple decker Knight Bus today rolls into Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, which opens 31^st March 2012. Taking its place among the many authentic sets, props and costumes from the eight Harry Potter films, the Knight Bus debuted in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban™ and was one of the most complicated pieces to create in the production.

John Richardson, Special Effects Supervisor, said: ”The Knight Bus was not a CGI Creation as many people thought but in fact a real-life working bus. It was constructed by cutting up two iconic Routemaster buses, reworking the structure and bolting it all back together to provide one bus with three decks. One interesting challenge that arose during the shooting of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was that we could not drive the vehicle across London due to the number of low bridges in and around the capital. This meant that we had to transport the bus in two pieces between locations and put it back together as required for filming.”

Newly released Harry Potter concept art shows plans for Nagini’s death, Rita Skeeter scene and more

A brilliant new batch of concept art for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie has surfaced online in the last few days. In the images below you can see artists’ impressions for the killing of Nagini scene with the horcrux explosion, some sketches for a book signing scene with Rita Skeeter that obviously didn’t make the final cut, designs for the contraption that fits Moody’s magical eye to Umbridge’s office door, and several life-like models of some revolting looking giants. First Photos from Great Expectations, with Jessie Cave and Helena Bonham Carter

The first photos from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’s director Mike Newell’s version of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations has been released. This adaptation has several Harry Potter alums such as Ralph Fiennes and Robbie Coltrane. The photos below are of Helena Bonham Carter, who plays Miss Havisham, and Jessie Cave, who plays the elder Biddy, who are also in the film. The BBC Films title currently has no set release date.
