Video: Harry Potter series receives special BAFTA

At the BAFTA Awards this evening the Harry Potter film series was honoured with the Michael Balcon award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema. Presented by Stephen Fry, the award was collected by producer David Heyman, and J.K. Rowling. Thanks to Mugglenet we have full video coverage of that segment right here. It includes some fine words from Stephen Fry as well as many of the legendary actors and actresses that have contributed to the Potter movies in a video montage.

Brand new ‘Woman in Black’ clip released by The Sun

The release of Daniel Radcliffe’s first post-Potter film The Woman in Black is not far away now, and The Sun have released this new clip online:

BAFTA nominations: Deathly Hallows Part 2 up for 4 awards

The final nominations for the BAFTAs (the British Academy Film Awards) were announced this morning. Daniel Radcliffe, along with rising star Holliday Grainger, announced the nominees for the main categories, and you can watch a replay of that announcement below.

Outside of the main categories, Harry Potter got four nominations for the following:

  • Production Design
  • Makeup & Hair
  • Special Visual Effects
  • Sound

Deathly Hallows Part 2 was initially long-listed in a further seven categories which it sadly missed out on: Outstanding British Film, Editing, Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography, Costume Design, Original Music and Supporting Actor – Alan Rickman. Get the whole story »

Dan Radcliffe confirmed to star in “Kill Your Darlings”

Variety.com confirmed on January 13th that Daniel Radcliffe, along with Elizabeth Olsen, will star in the Killer Films and Benaroya Pictures thriller Kill Your Darlings. The film tells of how a murder at Columbia University in 1944 brought together the writers who spark the Beat Revolution.

Radcliffe will star as Allen Ginsberg and Olsen will star as Edie Parker. Filming is set to begin on March 12 at Columbia University’s campus. We will upload pictures from the set as they become available.
