At the BAFTA Awards this evening the Harry Potter film series was honoured with the Michael Balcon award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema. Presented by Stephen Fry, the award was collected by producer David Heyman, and J.K. Rowling. Thanks to Mugglenet we have full video coverage of that segment right here. Harry Potter continued its modest awards season success last night by picking up two prizes at the annual Critics’ Choice Awards!
Deathly Hallows Part 2 fought off tough competition to win in the Best Makeup and Best Sound categories. Unfortunately, it lost out to Hugo for Best Art Direction, and to Rise of the Planet of the Apes in the Visual Effects category. Oscar favourite The Artist was the event’s biggest winner, with four awards, including Best Picture. For a full list of winners, click here.

A new Norwegian ‘anti-war’ movie Into The White, starring Rupert Grint, has had a second trailer released online and 16 new stills. We get a better look at Rupert here than in the first trailer, and we hear more of him sporting the Liverpool accent.
