Video: Harry Potter series receives special BAFTA

At the BAFTA Awards this evening the Harry Potter film series was honoured with the Michael Balcon award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema. Presented by Stephen Fry, the award was collected by producer David Heyman, and J.K. Rowling. Thanks to Mugglenet we have full video coverage of that segment right here. It includes some fine words from Stephen Fry as well as many of the legendary actors and actresses that have contributed to the Potter movies in a video montage.

Daniel Radcliffe voted Broadway.com star of the year!

As you may know, Daniel Radcliffe has been performing on New York’s Broadway for the last year as J. Pierrepont Finch in the hit musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Dan’s hard work in the role has helped him and his co-stars pick up numerous awards for the show.

And, after many weeks of online votes, fans on Broadway.com have named him as their ‘Star of the Year’ for 2011!

US Harry Potter DVD shipments to cease, beginning today

As we have previously reported, Warner Bros. is stopping all new shipments of Harry Potter DVDs and Blu-rays in the US.

Today, December 29th, this process has started, and stock on websites and in stores will not be replenished.

So if you are in the US, get your orders in for HP DVDs soon! They won’t be around for much longer.

However, they will not be gone forever, as WB does plan to release a new ‘Definitive Collection’ in around a year or so.
