New pictures: Emma Watson on set of ‘The End of the World’, ‘Bling Ring’ promo and Dan Radcliffe filming ‘Kill Your Darlings’

We’re getting lots of good news lately about the young Harry Potter stars’ post-Potter careers (we heard about two new roles for Rupert Grint a few days ago). Today we have some new pictures from Daniel Radcliffe and Emma  Watson’s upcoming projects.

Emma’s movie The Bling Ring released a first promo picture which you can see below, and she has been snapped in action on the set of another film, apparently an apocalyptic comedy called The End of the World which is also featuring Seth Rogen and Rihanna. Meanwhile, a few new pictures of Dan as Allen Ginsberg in Kill Your Darlings have surfaced. That film is set for a 2013 release.

Daniel Radcliffe confirms next role and expresses interest in future Pinocchio project

Variety yesterday reported that Dan Radcliffe has been officially confirmed to star in upcoming UK TV mini-series A Young Doctor’s Notebook, based on a Russian novel, in which he and 41 year old actor Jon Hamm will play the same role, but in different time periods. Variety says this:

The pair feature in “A Young Doctor’s Notebook,” a four-part skein inspired by a collection of short stories by Russian writer and playwright Mikhail Bulgakov set during the Russian Revolution.

Hamm takes the role of the older doctor, who has a series of bleakly comic exchanges with his younger self, portrayed by Radcliffe.

Show has been green lit by Sky Arts, owned by U.K. pay box BSkyB, and will be distributed internationally by BBC Worldwide.

Also reported yesterday on IndieWire.com is the news that Dan has approached Guillermo Del Toro to express interest in providing his voice for Del Toro’s new stop-motion Pinocchio film project:

The director’s been planning his take on the classic tale, which will feature music by Nick Cave, for some time, but only last week confirmed that he’ll be co-directing the animated feature, with “Fantastic Mr. Fox” animation director Mark Gustafson. And today, the filmmaker spoke to interested parties in Cannes via satellite link about the project to help drum up sales, and revealed that Harry Potter himself might end up in the project.

According to the “Pan’s Labyrinth” filmmaker, he was approached by Daniel Radcliffe, who’s keen to get involved on the project, and the actor is one of a number of names that he hopes might become involved, including Tom Waits, and Christopher Walken, who Del Toro wants to play the fox. The helmer stressed that no deals have been made, but he must also be on relatively safe ground if he’s willing to talk about it publicly. So could Radcliffe end up voicing the little wooden boy of the title? He’d certainly be a strong choice.

Helena Bonham Carter interviewed by Daniel Radcliffe

This month’s issue of Interview Magazine is changing up some things. Harry Potter alum Daniel Radcliffe interviewed Helena Bonham Carter, another Harry Potter alum. Radcliffe asked Carter how she got ready for her part as Bellatrix Lestrange in the HP films. Below is an exerpt from the article.

Dan: Your Harry Potter character, Bellatrix Lestrange, is one of the scariest characters in the books. But I think it’s fair to say that she is very playful and quite sexy as well.

Helena: When they sent the part, I thought, What am I going to do here? Because, actually, on the page, she wasn’t all there, so I thought, Well, you’ve got to be noticed. And Bellatrix-kids were terrified of her. So I think, Okay, I’ve got to be scary. But then also, if you’re with the kdis, you want to have fun being naughty.

Dan: Do you think you take inspiration from kids a lot? Because I do. They’re very  honest in how they act and  how thye are in the world.

Helena: Oh yeah. They are. And I also think there’s a lot of Peter Pan about me anyway. I never really wanted to grow up. I grew up really young. I moved out when I was 13- that’s when I started acting. Dad  was really ill-he was pretty much paralyzed- so there was a part of me that felt like I had to become responsible.
